Results for St Mary’s School, July 2016

 

Key Stage 2 (End of Year 6)

Congratulations to the pupils who were in Year 6 last year for all their hard work and their achievements in the Key Stage 2 SATs July 2016.

 

READING

This year reading standards were in line with national standards with 64% of pupils achieving the expected (or above) standard.

 

The percentage of pupils reaching the higher standard was in line with the national average at 19%.

 

WRITING 

This year writing standards were just below the national standard with 64% of pupils achieving the expected (or above) standard.

 

The percentage of pupils reaching the higher standard was above the national average at 19%.

 

MATHS

This year maths standards were lower than national standards with 58% of pupils achieving the expected (or above) standard.

 

The percentage of pupils reaching the higher standard was above the national average at 19%.

 

ENGLISH GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION AND SPELLING

This year GPVHS standards were in line with the national standards with 72% of pupils achieving the expected (or above) standard.

 

The percentage of pupils reaching the higher standard was above the national average at 25%.

 

COMBINATION: - Children achieving the expected standard in Reading, writing and maths.

This year, 47% of children achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined.

14% of children achieved the higher standard in reading, writing and maths combined.

 


End of Reception, Early Years Foundation Stage

At the end of the Foundation Stage, 73% of Reception pupils achieved a 'Good Level of Development'.   

 

 

Year 1 Phonics Screen

In Year 1 children have also been working very hard with 83% of children achieving the expected level or higher in the Year One Phonics Screen. Well done to all these children.

 

 

Year 2 Teacher Assessment Levels 

 

MATHS

This year maths standards were in line with national standards with 73% of pupils achieving the expected (or above) standard.

 

The percentage of pupils reaching the 'greater depth' was well above the national average at 33%.

 

READING 

This year reading standards were very slightly below with the national with figure with 69% of pupils achieving the expected (or above) standard.

 

The percentage of pupils reaching the ‘greater depth’ was in line with national at 24%.

 

WRITING 

This year writing standards were slightly above the national figure with 69% of pupils achieving the expected (or above) standard.

 

The percentage of pupils reaching ‘greater depth’ was above national at 18%.

 

COMBINATION:- Children achieving the expected standard Reading, writing and maths

70% of pupils achieved the expected standard across reading, writing and maths combined which was in line with the national average.

 

18% of pupils achieved ‘greater depth’ across reading, writing and maths combined which was in line the national average.

 

 

 

Children in all the other year groups have also worked very hard to make very good progress and achieve very good end of year results. Well done to them.

 

This academic year, 2016/17, we aim to continue to improve our results and help all of our pupils to do the very best that they can.
