Please save any empty yogurt or custard pots from home in preparation for planting seeds in the next half - term.

This term, we will be studying MYTHS and LEGENDS, CLASSIC FICTION, NARRATIVE POETRY, PERSUASIVE WRITING, USING INFORMATION TEXTS and LETTER WRITING.

We will enable the children to use what they learn in reading to produce their own high quality stories, reports, letters and non-fiction texts. Sentence construction, grammar and spelling will continue to be developed in all lessons.

The children will have a daily maths lesson which will continue to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of the subject.

The focus this term will be on MENTAL MATHS, PARTITIONING, NUMBER FACTS, CALCULATING, USING THE FOUR OPERATIONS, PROBLEM SOLVING, MEASURING, THE PROPERTIES OF 2D SHAPES and 3D OBJECTS and DATA HANDLING.

For the first half of the term we will be learning about LIGHT. 

After half term we shall be studying FORCES and MAGNETS.

In addition to observing the key dates in the Church’s Liturgical Year, we will be following the COME AND SEE programme, specifically working on the topics of COMMUNITY, GIVING and RECEIVING and SELF-DISCIPLINE.

Our class liturgy will take place on Wednesday 13th February at 10:10 in the main hall.

  • Cinderella Pantomime will take place on Thursday 7th at 10:30 for all Junior classes
  • Year 3/4 class liturgy on Wednesday 13th at 10:10 in the main hall
  • Year 3/4 swimming gala Wed 13th

  • PE takes place every Wednesday (inside) and every Thursday (outside)
  • Tuck shop takes place every Tuesday and Thursday morning
  • The spelling test takes place every Friday morning
  • The mental maths test takes places every Friday
  • Maths and English homework is given out THREE times a week
  • Monday's maths homework (Mathletics) is to be completed by Wednesday
  • Monday's spellings are due back the following Friday (including 10 sentences on the back of the spelling sheet)
  • Wednesday's maths and English homework is due back on the Friday
  • Friday's homework is due back on the following Monday
