Wisdom & Faith

1st July

Good morning lovely children and parents!

Let's light a candle and pray together:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:

Hail Mary, full of grace

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

And blessed is the fruit

of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God

Pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour

of our death

What date is it today? It is Wednesday and the beginning of a new month. It is called July and it is the month when we start our summer holidays. Do you know the months of the year? Let's sing the 'Months of the year' song together.

Months of the Year Song | Song for Kids | The Singing Walrus

I hope you enjoy this topic. Let's learn some more about pirates and how they speak.

To speak like a pirate you need to:

  • Have a go at making your voice sound like a growl
  • Try to emphasise the 'r' sound in all your words
  • Don't say the letter 'g' at the end of words, for example, 'sailing' would be 'sailin'

More pirate words:

  • Sea shanty - song
  • Landlubber - a non-pirate
  • Shiver me timbers - Oh my goodness
  • Avast ye - pay attention

Here is another story about pirates. It is called ' Pirates love underpants'
