Today's English task includes some further analysis of yesterday's poem and includes some work on persuasive writing. The final part has you writing a letter to your local MP, so think about something that you are really passionate about. What would you like to change? It could be something at school, something in the local community or something that is a world wide issue.
I have added 2 videos below to help you formulate and plan your ideas.
It's time for maths on a Friday, which means that it is time for The Friday Maths Challenge!
This week, to celebrate the return of the Premier League The Friday Maths Challenge is based around football. You will be exploring calculating time in football. There are a variety of activities and a quiz for you to complete.
Today's RE task looks at how we can use our God given freedom for the benefit of others.
Read through the material carefully, consider the questions and complete the activity.
Today's English task looks at poetry about lockdown and asks you to analyse how the poets have expressed their feelings about this situation. The Great Realisation, by Tom Roberts is a beautiful poem that looks at the negative side of modern society and how lockdown may actually bring us closer together. I hope you enjoy reading and listening to it.
Today's art lesson is all about making art out of simple lines, shapes and colours. It is an incredibly simple art task that creates imaginative and colourful pieces of art. I hope that you enjoy it. Like the videos suggest, you can use this activity to create a shared piece of art with other people in your house.
The two videos have slightly different techniques, the first does not suggest overlapping lines and the second one does. I will leave it up to you decide which approach you would prefer, or you may want to try both.
Today's English task looks at current artwork about the NHS. It also covers the use of relative clauses. I have a attached a presentation on relative clauses in case you need a reminder.
Today's history task is all about the pharaoh Tutankhamun. You will have to look at a variety of historical sources and then plan and write a newspaper article about the discovery of his tomb.
Watch the videos first to help give you a better understanding, then look through the PowerPoint and complete the activities. Remember to view the PowerPoint in slideshow mode, so that all links are activated.
