Good morning brilliant children. What is the date today? I have taken a picture of our board. Remember to use a full sentence!

 

 

Daily Prayer: Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

 

Maths: This week we will be learning about addition.

  • Star words you will need: add, addition, is equal to, equation, number, object, number bond, ten frame, part, whole, part-part-whole model

 

Day 5: Listen to the video about the part-part-whole model. Collect 20 objects from your home e.g. pens, toys. Put the 20 objects into the whole section. 20 is the whole. Separate your 20 objects into the two parts. How many objects are in each part? Count each part. What is the whole? Count the whole (how many objects there are altogether). You could write the numbers down. How many ways can you make 20? E.g. 18 objects in one group and 2 objects in the other group. Say it in a full sentence e.g. “I have 18 objects in this part and 2 objects in this part. The whole is 20. 18 and 2 makes 20. 18 add 2 is equal to 20.” Can you write it as an equation? Phonics: Join in with the video and learn the Set 3 sound i-e. Look at the letters and say the sound that they make. Have a go at sounding out words that have these sounds in e.g. hide, smile, nice. Use your ‘Fred Fingers’ pinching each finger while you say each sound, before blending it together e.g. h-i-d(e) hide. Have a go at writing these words. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02F-puznrZE

Literacy: Use your story mountain to re-tell the story ‘Cinderella’. What happens in the story? Write sentences to retell the middle of the story when Cinderella is at the ball e.g. “Cinderella danced with the prince. The clock chimed at midnight. She ran out of the palace. She left her shoe.” Remember to use your ‘Fred Fingers’ when sounding out your words. Ask your adult to write the red words ‘the’ and ‘of’ on a piece of paper to help you. Challenge: Can you write the beginning, middle and end of the story?

 

Idea of the day: Enjoy the song ‘Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo’ from the film version of ‘Cinderella’. Can you join in? Can you do actions to go along with the song? Can you make up your own spell? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2dGGaXIfl8

 

Bonus idea: On Sunday it is Father’s Day. Can you make a Father’s Day card? If you don’t have a dad or see your dad you could make a card for anyone special to you. Fold a piece of paper to make a card. Draw a picture on the front and write a message inside. What makes them special?
