Happy Friday!
Have the best day. smiley

Morning message - 12.06.20

Let’s start our day with a prayer.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.

  • Daily handwriting and phonics/reading
  • Grammar: Write numbers 0-20 as words
  • English: The Mouse, the Frog and the Little Red Hen
  • Maths: Measure capacity
  • Design and Technology (DT): Design a toy car

Daily handwriting and phonics/reading: Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics and continue reading each day. smiley

English: Re-read The Mouse, the Frog and the Little Red Hen. Read and spell a common set of ‘question words’ (what, when, why, etc.) and rehearse forming question marks. Write properly punctuated questions for characters in the story.

Try the question game below.

Maths: Today we are going to learn how to measure capacity. Use the video below to help with today's task.

Review these words:
container, holds, empty, almost/nearly empty, half full,
full, almost/nearly full, more, less

Measure capacity

Design Technology (DT): Today's activity focuses on designing a toy car with wheels using the DT step-by-step model RESEARCH, DESIGN, MAKE, EVALUATE.

This is a junk modeling task so try to use as many recycled materials you have at home. Some examples include: toilet paper rolls, cardboard, paper and plastic bottle tops.

1. New spelling words (red words)

2. Continue DT task above making your toy car

Remember you are encouraged to continue your daily reading and using Mathletics. Can you get your name on the Mathletics Hall of Fame!?

Congratulations to Malachi, Uzziah, Oliver S, Philip, Lourenco Mikayla x2, Arianna and Luca P who received a bronze certificate this week.
