Friday 12th June

Good Morning Year 2

Challenge:  Listen to the audio of me reading the morning message.  Can you read along as I speak?

Miss Writer's Morning Message

Today is Friday 12th June, 2020 and it is nearly the weekend!  If you have done all the activities you set, you have worked really hard. Remember you don’t have to do all the activities and challenges.  Just try your best and have a go.

Well done to those children working so hard on Lexia.   I can see more children using it.  Make sure you go in and check what new books you have to read.

Check the Mathletics page to see if you have earned a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate for June.

WOW! We have another Gold Certificate already!

If your name isn't up there, don't worry. Keep doing Mathletics daily and earning points and you can earn a certificate for the month of June.

Joke of the Day!

What was the first animal in space?

The cow that jumped over the moon

Start the day at 9am with PE with JOE

Morning Prayer

Father in heaven You love me.

You are with me night and day.

I want to love You always,

In all I do and say.

I'll try to please You Father.

Bless me through the day.

Your tasks today:

2.  Complete the Friday Maths Challenge.

Take a 5 minute yoga break or just relax

Activity 3 - English

Today we are going to be looking at a poem called My Step Day is an Alien!

What gives it away that he's an alien?  It's not immediately clear.

You will be answering questions on an Alien Step Mum too!  Wait a minute...  Do you have any secret aliens in your family?!

I hope you have fun!

Read the Question Booklet for Day 5 and look through the Aliens Nouns and Adjectives lesson.

Music Break

Go to Ms Hume's Music Page and have fun joining in with her latest music session at the very bottom of the page:

Activity 4 - French

Listen to me read the beginning of the lesson

Today we are going to talk about our pets again.

We will learn to say:

Do you have an animal?  Tu as un animal?

Yes, I have a...  Oui, j'ai un/une

No, I would like a...  Non, je voudrais un/une

1.  Draw a picture of 4 of your favourite animals and write the word in French and English next to it. If you are feeling ambitious, you could draw them all!

Look at the word un/une = a.  un - is masculine (a boy word) une is female (a girl word).  Make sure you use the correct one!

2.  Now watch this video - Do you have an animal?  Yes, I have a...

3.  Now it's your turn!

Listen to me asking Tu as un animal in French

Listen to me asking the question and responding.  Practise with someone in your family.  Then write out what you said in your books - make sure you draw the animals!

If you need help remembering how to say the animals' names, watch the video again:

Let’s try

Do you have an animal = Tu as un animal?

Yes, I have a hamster = Oui, jai un hamster

Yes, I have a fish = Oui, j'ai un poisson

No, I would like a rabbit
