Miss Writer's Morning Message

Today is Friday 22nd May, 2020 and it is nearly the weekend!  That also means that it is nearly half term.  If you have done all the work I've set, you have worked really, really hard.  Remember, you don't have to do the challenges or all the activities.

 

I won't be setting you daily activities over the half term but you do have projects in science and history to work on and you also have Mathletics, Lexia and of course reading your books.

 

Yesterday, I received a lovely message from Juan telling me that he helped his family by cleaning the patio, watering the plants and cooking dinner! I'm sure that you are all doing nice things at home too and being kind to your family.  Keep sending me pictures of what you are doing at home as everyone loves to see your fun activities and how you help out.

 

Oh!  I received a message letting me know that the maths worksheets for Thursday and Wednesday weren't on our class page!  I have put them on there if you would like to go back to and do them.

 

 

 

Check the Mathletics page to see if you have earned a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate.

 

WOW! 

If your name isn't up there, don't worry.  Keep doing Mathletics daily and earning points.

1.  Answer the questions in the quiz, see your score then close the quiz.

2. Go to Next Activity and watch the video and answer the questions.

3.  Go to Next Activity and complete the online Worksheet.

4.  Complete the final quiz and finish lesson.

 

 

2.  Complete Mathletics activities on addition and subtraction, arrays and directions.

 

3.  Complete the Friday Maths Challenge.

 

Activity 3 - English

You may have heard about Captain Tom Moore and his fundraising activities. Please find out a little bit more about this inspirational person by completing this comprehension exercise.  Did you know he fought in the Second World War in Burma and India.  My daddy was born in Burma during the Second World War and I am a small part Burmese!

 

Ask your grown-up helper to help you choose which level of comprehension to complete.

 

1 star = mild 

2 stars = medium

3 starts = spicy (challenging)

Activity 4 - French

This week we are going to continue to learn about food BUT...  We will be giving our opinions.  

 

Today you are going to learn to say: 

j'aime = I like

je n'aime pas = I don't like 

j'adore = I love

je déteste = I hate

 

1.  Listen to me reading out this Food opinions dialogue.  Can you practise it at home?  

 

 

 

A: Hello, what is your name?

B: My name is __________.

 

 

A:  Do you like strawberries?

B: Yes, I like strawberries.

 

 

A:  Do you like cheese?

B:  No, I do not like cheese.

 

 

A:  Thank you, good bye.

 

 

 

2.  If you can, print out the worksheet and practise both dialogues at home.  Conversation 1 is like/don't like.  Conversation 2 is love/hate.
