Let's start the day with a prayer.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Phonics and handwriting

Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.

Grammar: Spellings Test

English

Listen to Super Daisy for the last time. Today you are going to write your very own comic story. You will use your plan from yesterday to help.

  • To start in the first empty panel, draw your superhero and your planet from Part 1 of your planner.

  •  Add a speech bubble and write what the superhero is saying.

  • Use your best handwriting and word spacing. Remember to start your sentence with a capital letter and end it with a full stop.

  • Now do the same thing for the next two panels – one for each part of the remaining sections on your planner.
  •  Use the empty panel to make up your own ending. Maybe you can have Mum saying, ‘Suppertime, everyone! It’s [whatever your vegetable is]!’ and the children groaning, ‘Oh, no!'

Read a story aloud and use expressive voices to show the different characters and moods.

English- Task 1- Comic story writing

Maths

Review what we have learned this week about time. Do you have an analogue clock in your home? You can practise telling the time to the hour and half past.

Go back and review the tasks, activities and videos from this week. Can you tell the time to the hour? Can you tell the time half past?

If you didn't make a clock, you can make one today to help you practise telling time. Good luck!

Science

Today we are going to learn about shadows. A shadow is a dark shape made when something blocks light from a light source like the sun, a flashlight, or campfire. We see our shadow lots in the summer season when the sun is shining.

Who can spot Miss Tanner's shadow?

For today's task we are making shadow puppets! For these to work you will need to be in a dark room with a torch. You can use the templates attached in the task or maybe you want to make your own design.

Extra challenge: On a sunny day find your shadow outside. Can you trace it with sidewalk chalk?
