Happy Friday!
Well done for completing another week of home learning.
Check out our picture gallery to see all the wonderful work we’re doing
What is the date today? Remember to use full sentences.
Let’s start our day with a prayer.
Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Children please see below the most recent letter from Miss Pluckrose. Remember you can write back to her.
Daily handwriting and phonics/reading: Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics and continue reading each day.
English/Grammar: Complete your spelling test. Will you add the plural marker
-s or -es? Can you remember the special rules? Don't forget your bonus word. Good luck!
Plural means more than one.
Maths: We will start doing Mental Maths next week on Friday's. For today simply review what we have learned about time this week. Do you have an analogue clock in your home? You can practise telling the time to the hour and half past.
Review new words:
time, clock, hands, minute, hour, o'clock, half past
Go back and review the tasks, activities and videos from this week. Can you tell the time to the hour? Can you tell the time half past?
If you didn't make a clock, you can make one today to help you practise telling time. Good luck!
Science: Today we are going to learn about shadows. A shadow is a dark shape made when something blocks light from a light source like the sun, a flashlight, or campfire. We see our shadow lots in the summer season when the sun is shining.
Can you spot my shadow in the field?
For today's task we are making shadow puppets! For these to work you will need to be in a dark room with a torch. You can use the templates attached in the task or maybe you want to make your own design.
Extra challenge: On a sunny day find your shadow outside. Can you trace it with sidewalk chaulk?
New spelling words on contractions.
Contractions are two words together that are shortened by using an apostrophe '
Our spelling test on these words will be
Friday 3rd July.
