Friday 3rd July

Good Morning Year 2

Challenge:  Listen to the audio of me reading the morning message.  Can you read along as I speak?

Miss Writer's Morning Message

Today is Friday 3rd July, 2020 and it is nearly the weekend!  If you have done all the activities, you have worked really hard. Remember you don’t have to do all the activities and challenges.  Just try your best and have a go.

We have our second SHOW and TELL today so remember which group you are in.  Also, remember to bring your book along and be prepared to share:  the title, the author, what it is about/plot (without giving away the ending!), would you recommend it and why.

Check the Mathletics page to see if you have earned a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate for June.

If your name isn't up there, don't worry. Keep doing Mathletics daily and earning points and you can earn a certificate for the month of July.

Joke of the Day!

What did the flower say after it told a joke?

I was just pollen your leg.

Morning Prayer

Father in heaven You love me.

You are with me night and day.

I want to love You always,

In all I do and say.

I'll try to please You Father.

Bless me through the day.

Amen

Activity 3 - English

Do you know the Year 2 Common Exception Words?  These are words that by the end of Year 2 you should be able to have a good go at spelling correctly.

1) Look at the Common Exception Words for Year 2.  Are there any here that you find really tricky to spell?  Circle the ones that you find tricky.  Your challenge is to learn these words!

2) Open the Common Exception Words Year 2 Activity Book.  Spend today and this weekend working through the different activities.

Activity 4 - French

This week we are going to do a bit more French.  We have been learning about animals.  We will have a recap of animals but learn a body part too.  A BIG NOSE!

I've got three big-nosed animals here.  Can you figure out what they are?  You may need to do a bit of research!

Learn this song about animals with a big nose - avec un gros nez! Listen to the animal name and how they say the sounds the animals make.  It's not often you see one pass by!

Sing along and learn the words.  Watch out at the end for Alain.  He has a big nose too and he likes his nose!

2)  In your books, draw your favourite animal with a big nose and write:

C'est un vache avec un gros nez!

It's a cow with a big nose!

Challenge:  Draw more animals if you like.

Remember to send in your jokes, facts and pictures!  We love to see what you are doing at home.

Mr Griffin and I hope you and your family have a lovely weekend.
