Wisdom & Faith

Please refer to the educational websites link below to see lots of great maths resources children can use at home.

NUMBER WORK: Children will be investigating PLACE VALUE within 20.
GEOMETRY: Recognise and name 2-D and 3-D shapes.

NUMBER WORK: Children will be investigating PLACE VALUE within 50 and multiples of 2, 5 and 10.

MEASUREMENT: We will be measuring length, height, weight and volume.

GEOMETRY: position and direction

NUMBER WORK: Children will continue to read, write and interpret mathematical
statements involving addition, subtraction and equals signs. We will revisit PLACE VALUE
(to 100), ensuring children understand what each digit represents in a given number. We will start
multiplication and division, reinforcing multiples of 2. We will learn about FRACTIONS.
MEASUREMENT: money and time

Below you can find some concepts you can practice more at home. Remember to use the educational websites tab (link up above) to see some great videos and activities to support your learning.

Use a number square to help count forwards and backwards from any number, counting one more and one less and counting by 2s, 5s and 10s.

Adding and subtracting numbers from 0-20

Review your maths words.

Do you know what each word means?

Review your calendar words.

Do you know the days of the week?

Do you know the months of the year?
Do you know your ordinal numbers?

Do you know the different seasons?

Number bonds to 10 and 20

Writing numbers as words

Can you name your 2-D and 3-D shapes?

2-D - How many sides?
2-D - How many corners?

3-D - How many faces?
3-D - How many edges?

Can you count in multiples of 2, 5 and 10?

Even and odd numbers

Explore length, height, weight and volume.

How long is the object? Which object is the longest? shortest?

How tall is the object? Which object is the tallest? shortest?

How much does the object weigh? Which object is the heaviest? lightest?

How much can the container hold? Which container is empty? half-full? full?

Position and direction

Use positional language, including direction words

What does each digit represent?

Multiplication and Division

Can you tell the time to the hour and half past?

Can you draw the clock hands to tell the correct time?
