Phonics

This week we are learning about suffixes where there is no change to the root word. A suffix is a word part that's added to the end of a root word to change the meaning. Today's activity focuses on the suffix -ing.

ENGLISH - Enjoy a traditional tale, sequence events. Write punctuated sentences about characters from the story using simple adjectives.

Remember adjectives are describing words and they tell us about nouns.

Example: The wicked witch was making bad potion. I am describing the witch and the potion.

RE - Today's activity focuses on the Pentecost story and how the coming of the Holy Spirit changed everyone.

RE

Pentecost is a Holy day because the gift of the Holy Spirit is very special. The Holy Spirit helps and guides us in our lives. The Holy Spirit appeared to his disciples giving them strength and courage to save others. Next they saw tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. When the tongues of fire came they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in different languages.
