  1. Write about what you did over the weekend and draw a picture beside it.
  2. Using your phonics to sound out each word. Spelling words phonetically is correct!




  1. Read and/or listen to the story: “Cinderella”. We will be doing work this week based on the story.
  2. Parents please explain any words your children do not know or understand.
  3. You can also read the story in your home language.
  4. Re-tell the story in full sentences. Who is in the story? Where does the story take place? What happens at the start, middle and end of the story?
  5. Make your own puppets/face masks to help to retell or act out the story. Or if you have access to a printer you can print out the puppets/face masks I have uploaded for you.

This week we will be learning about addition.

  • Star words you will need: add, addition, is equal to, equation, number, object, number bond, ten frame, part, whole, part-part-whole model
    Use your hands to show number bonds (different ways to make) to 10.
    Put different combinations of fingers/thumbs up and down to show how to make 10.
    How many ways can you make 10? E.g. 5 fingers up and 5 fingers down. Say it in a full sentence e.g. “I have 5 fingers up and 5 fingers down. 5 and 5 makes 10.
    5 add 5 is equal to 10.”
    Can you write it as an equation/sum? E.g. “5 + 5 = 10”.
    Key questions: Can you show number bonds to 10 using your hands? How many different ways can you make 10? Can you say the equation in a full sentence? Can you write an equation?

  1. Morning – draw a picture/s about what you do in the morning and write a simple sentence e.g In the morning I brush my teeth, I eat my breakfast, I get dressed
  2. Midday - draw a picture/s about what you do at midday and write a simple sentence e.g I have my lunch
  3. Afternoon – In the afternoon I do my work, I play with my toys
  4. Evening – I have my dinner, I watch TV
  5. Night time – I have a bath, I go to bed
