Happy Monday Year 1!
Welcome to a new week and a new month.
04.05.20 Do you know why the second number has changed to 5?
Did you know that May is the month of Mary? During this time we celebrate Mary, the mother of our Lord. Try your best to say the Hail Mary each day and include the NHS staff and all Key Workers in your prayers. Let's start our day with a prayer.
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
See the link below to join in for our Monday liturgy with your families. There is also a special PowerPoint for the month of Mary. Can you learn the Rosary?
Please note that you can find all school updates and letters at the link below. Please see below the most recent letters from Miss Pluckrose.
A beautiful sunset from the weekend. Remember our sunsets we drew during Art week? How many different colours can you see in the sky?
Check out PE with Joe and music with Ms Hume below.
Daily handwriting and phonics
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day. Find more about the words of the week (prefix -un and compound words) in the phonics link below. There will be one small grammar activity a day to help children learn their spellings better.
ENGLISH - Today's activity focuses on sequencing events and predicting what happens next in a text.
MATHS - Today's activity focuses on number bonds of 8 and 9. Can you find the missing number? Remember addition can be done in any order.
RE - Today's activity focuses on Ascension Day. This is the day where Jesus went back to his father in Heaven. This holiday is celebrated 40 days after Jesus' resurrection. Ascension Day this year will be on Thursday the 21st of May.
