Monday 8th June

Good Morning Year 2

Challenge:  Listen to the audio of me reading the morning message.  Can you read along as I speak?

Miss Writer's Morning Message

Today is Monday 8th June, 2020.  I hope you had a lovely weekend.  On Friday, it was Max's birthday so Happy Birthday Max!

Below is a letter from Miss Pluckrose.  I put this on our IMPORTANT UPDATES page on Friday so if you didn't see it yet, have a read of the letter when I have finished today's morning message.

Over the weekend, I went into Lexia to adjust your levels.  I can also see how much some children are using it!  So well done to these children for all working hard in June:

Genevieve, Sienna, Annie, Sebastian, Max, Beatrice and Stanley.

If you are find it too difficult now OR too easy, send me a message and I will change your level.  I would love to see lots more children reading in June.

Thank you to all the children who have sent me letters.  I would really like to hear from all of you as I miss you very much and I would like to know how you are.  Please write to me when you have time.

Joke of the Day!

How does the moon cut his hair?
Eclipse it.

Start the day at 9am with PE with JOE

Morning Prayer

Father in heaven You love me.

You are with me night and day.

Activity 3 - Art

Today's art project is inspired by Beatrice who has been learning about space!

1.  Watch this video about the different planets in our solar system.

2.  Pick your favourite planet and draw it.  Look carefully at the colours and the shapes on the planets.  If you are feeling really ambitious you could draw the entire solar system!  Here are some pictures to help you.

Challenge:

1.  If you have some string and a stick or a wooden rod, you can cut out your planets and attach them like this.

2.  If you would like to learn more about the planets in our solar system look at this website:
https://nineplanets.org/kids/

You could write a little fact file about the solar system.
