Thursday 14th May

Good Morning Year 2

Today is Thursday 14th May, 2020.  Today's message is a little bit later than usual.  This morning I checked on the robin and her nest was gone.  Sadly, I think a fox or cat got her nest.  Hopefully, next year, she will build a nest much higher up.

Today I received a super picture from Annie showing her leaf collection!  I hope you are able to get out and start spotting some leaves!

Joke of the Day!

What do you call a deer with no eyes?

No eye-deer.

Start the day at 9am with PE with JOE

Morning Prayer

Father in heaven You love me.

You are with me night and day.

I want to love You always,

In all I do and say.

I'll try to please You Father.

Bless me through the day.

Amen

Activity 3 - History

Today we are going to look at the differences between hospitals now and then.  Do you think hospitals are the same now as in Florence Nightingale's time?

1)  Take a look at this worksheet.  This is a hospital from Florence Nightingale's time.

  • Match the problem to the solution.
  • On page 2, look at the picture and explain what the problems were at the hospital and how Florence Nightingale solved them
2) Now look at what a modern day hospital looks like.

3) Complete the worksheet Comparing Victorian and Modern Day Hospitals.

There are three levels to this activity.  Pick how much you would like to challenge yourself:

1 star = mild

2 stars = medium

3 starts = spicy (challenging)

Challenge:  Do you know any buildings named after Florence Nightingale?
