Thursday 25th June

Good Morning Year 2

Challenge:  Listen to the audio of me reading the morning message.  Can you read along as I speak?

Miss Writer's Morning Message

Today is Thursday 25th June, 2020.  I hope you enjoyed the hottest day of the year yesterday; however...  I think today is going to be even hotter!  If you are outside, remember to put on suntan lotion and wear a hat.  Also, drink lots of water to stay hydrated.

I am very much looking forward to speaking with you all tomorrow.  I still haven't picked what I am going to share with you!  I must do that.

Your challenge today is to pick your show and tell item and rehearse what you want to say about it. What is it? Why did you choose it? Why is it your favourite?  I would also like you to share one fun thing you did aside from school tasks this week.

Have a lovely day!

                          Joke of the Day!

Why did the teacher wear sunglasses to school?

Because her students were so bright.

Start the day at 9am with a children's exercise class!

Morning Prayer

Father in heaven You love me.

You are with me night and day.

I want to love You always,

In all I do and say.

I'll try to please You Father.

Bless me through the day.

Amen

Your tasks today:

Activity 1 - Maths

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/

Go to Lesson 4 - Compare Mass

1.  Listen to the video and answer the questions.

2. Open the worksheet below and answer the questions.

3.  Check your answers below.  Did you get it right?

Activity 2 - English

Today, you are going to read an abridged version of the story we have been looking at this week.  Abridged just means shorter.  Phew!

Do you ever see words in stories that you don't know or don't understand?  I do all the time.

There are ways to work out these words and you will learn how to do that today!

Have fun!

Read and complete the Question Booklet for Day 4.

Activity 3 - Geography

Today we are going to look at the different flags of the British Isles and their history.

1.  Look through this lesson and then see if you can explain to someone in your house what you know about the flags of the British Isles.

2.  In your books, draw the flags of the British Isles.  Can you write one fact for each of them?

Challenge:  Complete the worksheet using what you have learned today.
