Good morning lovely children.
Today is Thursday the 2nd of July.
Remember to dream BIG. You can be anything you want.
What is the date today? Remember to use full sentences.
Let’s start our day with a prayer.
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Daily handwriting and phonics/reading: Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics and continue reading each day.
Grammar: This week we are learning about contractions.
Now that you've (you have) been learning about contractions all week let's (let us) see how well you understand! Today's task has two parts.
1. Write the words that each contraction stands for.
2. Write the correct contraction for each set of words.
Don't (do not) forget your spelling test is tomorrow.
English: Today we are going to re-visit our sequence words. Can you order the pictures correctly and write what is happening in each one using your sequence words? You can choose to do writing option 1 or challenge yourself with a bit more writing and try writing option 2.
Remember to use your word bank to help you with your spelling and use your neatest golden sentences.
Maths: Today we are going to continue learning about time. First, let's review.
Review these new words:
time, clock, hands, minute, hour, o'clock, half past
For today's task we are learning about elapsed time. We are going to look at one hour later and half an hour later.
Check out Mathletics for more tasks about time.
Humanities: Today we are going to be learning more about Mexico!
In this lesson we will be learning all about Mexican food. Do you know any already?
First we are going to make a hat called a sombrero. Read through the learning slides and then have a go at making your very own sombrero! Make them as colourful as you can. I can't wait to see them already!
Now that you have your hat we are ready for the party. Why not have a go at making your very own fajitas? You can then draw and name all of the Mexican food on your poster.
