Good morning Year 1! Today is Thursday 30th April. We are now in Summer Term week 2.
Today is the very last day of April, tomorrow will be the start of the new month of May. Well done for working so hard yesterday. How did you get on with labeling the plant? I'm sure they look fantastic.
Today you have English, Maths and PHSE tasks to complete. Have a glorious day and keep on smiling!
Let's start the day with a prayer.
The Lord's prayer, or Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Phonics and handwriting
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.
Today's activity focuses on fiction and non-fiction writing, recording facts and writing golden sentences. Make sure that you read The Owl and moon and that you use your phonics to spell and your very best handwriting.
Today's activity focuses on finding change when shopping. Remember the word difference? This means we are doing to subtract.
If Miss Gale had 20p and took 5p away, she would have 15p left.
20p - 5p = 15p
Today's activity focuses on learning to manage our emotions. We feel lots of different emotions. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they are not. Even when they are not, it is okay to feel this way - like sad, angry, frustrated. The important part is to learn why we are feeling this way and ways that we can help ourselves feel happy again.
