Thursday 7th May

Good Morning Message

Good morning everyone. I wish you all a very happy Thursday!

Q: What do you call an alligator in a vest?

A: An investigator!

I hope you enjoy the activities I have set for you today.

Let us start the day with a prayer:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Please pray with me

It's time for a workout!

As you relax, for a few minutes after your exercise, please ask a grown-up to share this letter from Miss Pluckrose with you.

Activity 3 - History

This week we will watch a video of an account from Florence Nightingale.

1.  Watch this video of Florence Nightingale.

What do you think it was like to be her?

What do you think it was like to train other nurses?

What do you think it was like to work at night with a lamp?

What were the conditions like in the hospital?

2.  In your books, write a diary entry as Florence Nightingale.

Can you describe what it was like to work in the hospital?

What did she do?

What were the conditions like?

What was it like for the soldiers?

Use the Diary Checklist, below, to help you. Ask a grown-up to help you choose your level.

Remember, YOU are Florence Nightingale (the writer).

Well done, children and adults!

I hope you have enjoyed completing the activities today.

Keep smiling!

Mr Griffin
