Thursday 9th July

Good Morning Year 2

Challenge:  Listen to the audio of me reading the morning message.  Can you read along as I speak?

Miss Writer's Morning Message

Today is  Thursday 2nd July, 2020.

Tomorrow, Group 1 will have their SHOW and TELL at 9:30am.  Please go to Google Classroom.

As you know, I have been going back to school this week.  School is just the same but different!  There are arrows on the corridor floors and there is some building work going on.  At the moment, we have our lunch in the classroom and it is given to us in little trays!

This afternoon, you have a fun activity in geography that may take you quite a while.  When we were in school, we started to learn a lot about landmarks.  Can you identify any of the London landmarks in this picture below?  Have a lovely day!

Joke of the Day!

What do you call a fake noodle?

An impasta!

Start the day at 9am with a children's exercise class!

Activity 3 - Geography

Today we are starting a large project.  You will need some paper, colouring pens and a printer.  We are going to make our own 3D model city.

That means you are going to create your own city with houses and flats, key landmarks and even vehicles!

Take a look at these examples:

What you will need:

  • Scissors
  • Colouring pencils or pens
  • Glue
  • Patience - you will need to take your time and to be patient!

1) Pick 1 and ONLY 1 item to print out and build.  This is very important.

2) Cut it out carefully.

3) Colour it in neatly.

You may find it easier to colour it in first then cut it out, but practise this way first.

4) When you have finished your first building, landmark or vehicle, you may choose one more to cut out, colour in and build.

You may find that you just want to build one building.  That is OK.  Another day, you can add to your city.

Good luck at building your city!
