Wisdom & Faith

We have been learning about the history of toys in Year 1. As a class we ordered old and new toys and learned about what old toys look like.

-Old toys are made from materials such as wood and metal.

-New toys from materials such as plastic.

Comparing toys today against toys that our parents and grandparents played with, we thought about these questions.

- How are the toys similar?

- How are the toys different?

- Which toys do we like the best?

- How have toys changed over the years?

The class discovered about the history of puppets. We looked at their materials and learned about all of the different types of puppets. Victorian children would make their own puppets and perform their own puppet shows for amusement. Working in groups the children performed the story of Cinderella.
