Tuesday 9th June
Good morning amazing children. What is the date today? I have taken a picture of our board. Remember to use a full sentence!
Daily Prayer: Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Maths: This week we will be learning about one more and one less.
Day 2: Today we will be focusing on: one more. Choose a number card from 0-20. Find it and circle it on a number line. Show one more than the number by doing one jump forwards. Circle the number that you ‘land’ on. Say which number you land on e.g. “I started with 18. I did one jump forward on the number line. I landed on 19. One more than 18 is 19.” Repeat this for a variety of numbers. Can you show one more using objects?
Key questions: Can you show one more using a number line? Can you say one more than a number in a full sentence? Can you show one more than a number using objects?
Phonics: Join in with the video and spell words with the Set 2 sound air. Say the word out loud. Have a go at sounding it out to work out how many sounds are in the word e.g. f-air fair (2 sounds). Hold up that many ‘Fred Fingers’. Say the word. Sound it out and ‘pinch’ your fingers with each sound. Write the word. Underline the ‘special friend’ ‘air’. Check your sounds with me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xtWKi4pcAc
Literacy: Choose and draw a character from the story ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’- choose one of the Billy Goats Gruff. Think of adjectives (describing words) to describe them e.g. hairy, small, clever. Can you label your character with these words? Remember to use your ‘Fred Fingers’ when sounding out your words.
Idea of the day: Strengthen your fingers and shoulders with some drawing. Stick paper to the underneath of a table in your home. You could turn it into a den with a cushion underneath so that you can lie down. Reach up and draw a picture or make some marks. Can you make some small movements? Can you make some big movements?
