Good morning Year 1! Today is Tuesday 12th May. We are now in Summer Term week 4.

I hope you enjoyed all of the learning from yesterday. I am so proud of you all for working so hard each day. Keep up the excellent effort!

Today you have English, Maths and Humanities tasks to complete. Remember to always try your very best.

Today's Tasks

  • Suffix 'ing' worksheets
  • English
  • Maths
  • Humanities

Let's start the day with a prayer.

The Lord's prayer, or Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Amen.

Phonics and handwriting

Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.

Today we will be learning more about the suffix 'ing'. Have a go at the worksheet below.

Today we will be reading the story This is the House that Jack Built again and think about what food the rat liked eating. You will then list your favourite food and one thing you really don't enjoy eating! The focus today is to write three golden sentences about your favourite (and least favourite!) foods. In your sentences you will be using the words 'and' and 'but' to join two independent clauses together.

English- Task 1- Food Glorious Food!

Today's activity focuses on making equal groups - sharing and grouping.

Please refer to the White Rose website under Summer term - Week 1 to watch the learning videos for Lesson 2 & 3: Make equal groups (sharing) and make equal groups (grouping).

Refer to the learning slides dated 12.05.20 for today's lesson.

The third lesson into our new topic of UK Rivers, Seas and Mountains will be looking at UK mountains. We will learn about what is a mountain and identify its features. We will then label the mountain ranges in the UK.
