Good Morning Year 2

Challenge:  Listen to the audio of me reading the morning message.  Can you read along as I speak?

I hope you had a lovely day yesterday.  Today we have our Google Classroom meeting.

Remember to bring the toy that you used as your toy character last week.  Be prepared to show how to use him/her and to ask your toy to say hello to the other children!

Finally, today is shark awareness dayIt’s true that sharks are impressive hunters and predators, yet the sad fact remains that these magnificent creatures are more threatened by people than we are by sharks.

As an extra challenge for today, draw a picture of and research your favourite shark.  Watch the video for more information.

Joke of the Day!

Why is Cinderella so bad at soccer?

Because she always runs away from the ball!

Start the day at 9am with a 10 minute kids workout class!

Morning Prayer

Father in heaven You love me.

You are with me night and day.

I want to love You always,

In all I do and say.

I'll try to please You Father.

Bless me through the day.

Your tasks today:

Activity 1 - Maths

Go to Lesson 2 - Hours and days

1.  Listen to the video and answer the questions.

2. Open the worksheet below and answer the questions.

3.  Check your answers below.  Did you get it right?

Activity 2 - English

Very soon, you will receive a letter from Miss Pluckrose letting you know who your teacher is for next year.   How EXCITING!

I thought it would be a good idea for you to tell your new teacher some interesting things about yourself.  I have attached a small booklet for you to complete.

Activity 3 - Sports Day!

As we cannot have Sports Day this year, I would like you to do the following challenge:

Can you run on the spot can for a whole minute?

Activity 4 - RE

Each day we celebrate the life of a saint.

Yesterday was the feast of St. Henry and the children in Mr Griffin's key worker group did some research on his life and drew a picture of him.

I would like you to research a favourite saint and to draw a picture of the saint and write a paragraph or two about them.

If you are struggling for an idea, may I suggest:  St Julie Billiart, St Mother Teresa or St. Francis of Assisi.  This website will give you some good ideas:
