Good morning children.
Today is Tuesday the 23rd of June.
Remember how important it is to be a good friend to those around you.
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics and continue reading each day.
This week we are learning more about adding plural markers
-s and -es to nouns. Remember nouns are people, places, things, animals or ideas.
Plural means more than one.
For today's task try the fun PowerPoint games on adding plural markers -s and -es. Then complete the activity by changing singular nouns into plural nouns.
Challenge: Can you use some of your new plural nouns in sentences?
English: Read the story, Superheroes – All Sorts by Ruth Merttens and Anne Holm Petersen. Drawing on the text, link words to their opposites and suggest further pairs of antonyms. Write sentences explaining what you would rather do, live in the country or in a town.
Try and think of at least two reasons and make sure you use either because or and in your beautiful sentences.
Why not try the opposites game below?
Maths: Today we are learning about our days of the week and months of the year.
Can you order your days of the week? Can you order your months of the year?
Extra challenge: Draw pictures of things you do on each day of the week or things you do in different months depending on the season and weather.
Diversity: Today we are going to be learning all about diversity. Diversity means that there are lots of different kinds of people.
There are lots of differences between people e.g. the way we look, what we like/don’t like. It is important that we respect people for their differences. We should embrace our differences.
First, read through the PowerPoint. Next, complete the despite our differences worksheet. Finally create a beautiful hand print painting under the poem with my own two hands. Think about ways in which you can make the world a better place.
Enjoy below the story The Proudest Blue.
It's so wonderful how we are each different and not all the same!
St Mary's School has created the most amazing virtual library celebrating diversity. Take a look in the link below. Happy reading!
