Good morning Year 1! Today is Tuesday 28th April. We are now in Summer Term week 2.
I'm sure your work from yesterday was very good. I'm looking forward to seeing your golden sentences with great phonics and beautiful handwriting when we return to school.
Today you have English, Maths and Humanities tasks to complete. Have a wonderful day and make me proud!
Today's Tasks
Let's start the day with a prayer.
The Lord's prayer, or Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Phonics and handwriting
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.
English:
Today's activity focuses on reading and enjoying the story 'Boris and Sid are bad'. The task is to write instructions using the conjunction 'and'.
Maths:
Today's activity focuses again on money. Today you will be adding coin amounts together and then finding the total.
There are two differentiated activities - mild and hot. Please choose the one that is best suitable. Please use the resources below to support your understanding.
Humanities
We are starting a new Humanities topic today which has a geography focus of 'UK seas, rivers and mountains'. In today's lesson you will be learning about what is a sea and then labeling the ones surround the UK. On the map you could also label the countries in the UK and colour it in. You could label seaside destinations in the UK or even draw some of the sea creatures you may find in the sea. Show off your wonderful drawing and colouring skills!
