Wisdom & Faith

Tuesday 28th April

What is the date today? Remember to use full sentences.

Morning message - 28.04.20

Let's start the day with a prayer.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Make sure to check out the new Monday liturgy if you didn't yesterday.

Who has been doing PE with Joe every morning? What a fun way to wake up and get active! If you haven't tried it, now is your chance. Check out the link below.

  • Humanities: UK seas

Daily handwriting and phonics

ENGLISH - Today's activity focuses on reading strategies for tricky words, reading comprehension, recognising instructions, writing instructions.

Miss Tanner reads Boris and Sid Are Bad

MATHS - ***Please note that money is a new topic for children covered in Summer term*** Today's activity focuses on adding money by counting on. You already know how to add numbers together so don't let it trick you up! The only difference now is that you are adding a p on the end to say pence for money.

Miss Tanner wants to buy both the whistle and the balloon at the shop. How much money do I need? This is the same as saying 4 + 5 which you all know!

Let's put 5 in our head and count on 4 more... 6...7...8...9. Then I add the letter p to the end to show it means pence. These toys together will cost 9p.

HUMANITIES - We are starting a new topic, with a Geography focus, all about UK seas, rivers and mountains. Who remembers learning the UK countries with Mrs Mendelssohn? Can you remember their names? England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Today's activity focuses on the UK seas. A sea is a large area of salty water that is part of an ocean or surrounded by land. Label the seas on your map.

Prior knowledge challenge: Label the UK countries on your map. You have already done this in class before. Can you remember where they go?

Fun challenge: Do you know any animals that live in the sea? Draw some sea creatures on your map.
