Good morning Year 1! Today is Tuesday 5th May. We are now in Summer Term week 3.
Well done for all of your hard work. I have seen so much excellent work and beautiful pictures. Keep on being kind and loving towards everyone at home.
Today you have English, Maths and Humanities tasks to complete. Enjoy and try the very best you can.
Today's Tasks
Let's start the day with a prayer.
The Lord's prayer, or Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Phonics and handwriting
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.
English
In today's lesson you will read two poems If You Should Meet a Crocodile and The Vulture. The task is to identify rhyming words in the poems. Can you remember any words that rhyme? They are words which sound the same.
Maths - Today's activity focuses on doubling numbers. When we have double it means we add the same amount again. 2 doubled would be 2 + 2 = 4.
Humanities
The second lesson into our new topic of UK Rivers, Seas and Mountains will be looking at UK rivers. We will learn about what a river is and label the rivers of the UK on a map.
