Civil Rights Movement-Understanding slavery

As well as celebrating Black History throughout the month of October, children have the opportunity to study an aspect of black history within their year group.

For example, the Civil Rights Movement where black people fought for social justice between the 1950s and 1960s.

One significant individual during this time was Rosa Parks who refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama inspiring the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
