Good morning Year 1! Today is Wednesday 13th May. We are now in Summer Term week 4.
Happy hump day! Middle of the week now. I hope you are all having a brilliant week and are still laughing and smiling.
Yesterday I went on a walk and it was so very beautiful. This was my view when I got to the top of the hill. It made me think how lucky we are that God made such a wonderful world for us all to live in.
Today you have English, Maths and PSHE tasks to complete. Well done for trying your very best this week so far!
Let's start the day with a prayer.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Phonics and handwriting
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.
Today we will be learning about the suffix 'ed'. Have a read through the PowerPoint on the 'ed' suffix.
Today you will watch This is the House that Jack Built and read The House That Jack Built and discuss which you prefer. The focus today is to respond to The House That Jack Built, writing in golden sentences reading through the prompts. Make sure you use the word 'because' in your sentences.
Today's activity focuses on making arrays for multiplication.
Today we will be learning about friendship.
What do you think makes a good friend? Do you have a friend? Are they kind? Do they make you laugh? Do they share their toys with you?
How do you think you could be a good friend? Do you listen to your friends? Do you play with your friends? Do you give them compliments?
Talk about what you think makes a good friends and sort through the cards. Next complete the worksheet, 'What I want in a friend'. I'm expecting beautiful pictures and lovely handwriting!
Why not have a listen to the story Enemy Pie to learn more about friendship.
