Start your day with a workout

Activity 1 - Mathematics

Go to Lesson 3 - Subtract 2-digit numbers

1.  Watch and listen to the video and answer the questions.

2. Click on the link to the worksheet for today.

3.  Click on the answers link to check your answers and see how many you got right.

Activity 2 - English

1. Please read the story 'Dream On'.

Now read the Question Booklet.

2. Comprehension - Read each of the Questions about Dream On

  • Write your answers in the spaces provided. 
  • Go back and check with the story if you are not sure of an answer. 
  • Re-read your answers to check that what you have written makes sense. 

 

3. Let’s get ready to write 

What do you think the thing in the room was? 

  • Read the suggestions at the top of The Thing in the Room
  • Decide what you think the creature was and do a drawing of it. 
  • Write a good paragraph about what you think was in the room. Use full sentences, remembering to use a capital letter and full stop for each one. 

 

Challenge:  What are the best things to do if you have a slightly scary dream? On What to do if you have a scary dream, write some instructions for things to help you to feel better and go back to sleep. 

Activity 3 - Science

This week, we are going to learn about trees.  I love to look at trees, especially ones that have grown into interesting shapes. I enjoy thinking about how they have grown the way they have.

Now, please complete the 'Sorting Trees, Parts of a Tree and Tree Quizzes.

Finally, look at the Trees (Gallery).

 

When you have have had a good look through, print out or look at the Identify Trees sheet below.  Match the leaves with the trees.

Challenge:  If you are able to go out for a walk with your family see if you can see any leaves/trees that you recognise.  Take your completed Identifying Trees worksheet with you to help you out.
