Let's start the day with a prayer.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Phonics and handwriting
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.
This week we are learning more about adding plural markers -s and -es to nouns. Remember nouns are people, places, things, animals or ideas.
For today's task sort the singular nouns into the correct plurals box.
Challenge: Can you use the plural marker -ies? We use this when a singular noun ends in y - drop the y and add -ies. Give it a try!
Listen to the story of Super Daisy and the Peril of Planet Pea by Kes Gray and Nick Sharratt. Read Super Daisy’s Day. Highlight all of the verbs in Daisy’s Day. Remember a verb is a word that shows action.
Change verbs into the past tense by adding an -ed suffix to root verbs. Remember past tense is something that has happened in the past. Then, write a superhero sentence using a past tense verb.
- Think of a superhero you love and draw them on Comparisons.
-Write comparison sentences about your superhero. For example;
Super Daisy is faster than, stronger than, fiercer than, smarter than the silly Joker.
Now that we have a better understanding of time it's time to start looking at clocks. Today we are learning all about o'clock - telling time to the hour.
Can you read the clock hands in your task to decide what time it is? When it is o'clock the minute hand (longer hand) is always on the 12 and the hour hand (shorter hand) is always directly pointing to a number.
Extra challenge: Draw your own clocks showing different o'clock times.
Today we are going to Mexico!
Can you find where Mexico is in the world?
Do you know anything about Mexico already?
In this lesson we will be learning about Mexico. We will then be comparing the weather in the UK to the weather in Mexico. Sombrero's at the ready!
