Good morning Year 1! Today is Wednesday 29th April. We are now in Summer Term week 2.
I am loving the photos that you are sending into me, SO much wonderful learning. So great to see you playing and working well together. It's so important to try and be patient and kind with one another at the moment.
Today you have English, Maths and Science tasks to complete. Can't wait to see this lovely learning already, have a great day superstars!
Today's Tasks
Let's start the day with a prayer.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Phonics and handwriting
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.
English
Today's activity focuses on writing instructions on how to brush your teeth. Make sure that you look at the key features of instructions. Use the instructions template or for a challenge just use lined paper. Ensure that you use your beautiful handwriting, phonics and golden sentences.
Maths:
We continue on with our focus of money today. The activity today is to add 10p and 20p to prices. Remember the pattern we noticed when we added ten onto numbers on our number squares in class? The ten number changes but the one's stay the same. For example: 67p + 10p = 77p. Magic!
There are two differentiated activities - mild and hot. Please choose the one that is best suitable. Please use the resources below to support your understanding.
Science
Today we continue with our new topic of Plants. The task today scientists is to label the parts of the plant. Think about why the plant may need all of its different parts, how do they help the plant to work? Take a look at the science page in the link below for more useful resources.
