Let's start the day with a prayer.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Good morning Year 1! Today is Wednesday 6th May. We are now in Summer Term week 3.
How did you get on yesterday labeling the rivers in the UK? You are all geographers now! I'm so proud of your amazing work.
Today you have Grammar, English, Maths and Science tasks to complete. Have a lovely day of learning!
Today's Tasks
Phonics and handwriting
Please aim for 30 minutes (15 each) of handwriting and phonics per day.
English
In today's lesson we will be listening to the story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen. Next, you will sequence the story (using your sequence words). After that, the task is to create a story map for We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. Remember to label/write words on your map using your phonics.
Maths - Today's activity focuses on adding 3 numbers together. Remember when we add we are counting forwards. Use your knowledge of numbers bonds to 10 and doubling numbers to help you. You can add 2 numbers together and then add on the 3rd number.
4 + 6 + 8
We know that 4 + 6 is 10 because its a number bond.
Now we just need to count 8 more from 10. So that's just 10+ 8 = 18
Science
In today's lesson we will be building on our learning of plants. The task today is to identify different types of plants. Do you know what a snowdrop looks like? Why not try the extra Wild Plants Challenge?
