Home Learning

Dear children and parents,

I hope you have had a relaxing break over Christmas and the New Year.

As you already know, we will not return to school on Tuesday but instead we will have live lessons via Google Classroom.

A timetable will be posted on the class page on Monday by 4pm, which outlines the live lesson plan for the week. Resources will be posted onto Google Classroom and this will be the main place of contact for the duration of home learning.

You may wish to consider the following to help prepare your child for home learning:

  • Have a quiet, tidy area for your child to work in
  • Ensure your child has access to Google Classroom – laptops/desktops or tablets are ideal
  • Saving passwords and usernames or having them written down next to the device being used is advisable
  • Headphones provide better sound quality
  • Check login details prior to Tuesday 5th
  • Have basic equipment (paper, pen/pencil, rubber, sharpener, ruler) available so that your child can complete the set tasks
  • Help your child to upload work onto the Google Classroom page when completed
  • Encourage your child to try their best

I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning.

Mr Elgey

Google Classroom

To access Google Classroom you will need to accept the invitation to Year 3 2020-2021. These email invited have been sent to your child's @lgflmail email account.

Log on details are the same as last year and can be found in your child's comprehension CPG book. Guidance for GC is on a link below. Please assist them in logging into their new class stream. We will be using GC for homework and should school need to close it will be used for online lessons.

Your log in is your first name and the first letter of your surname (eg Sarah Smith would be sarahs).

Your password is read.

Please note that Lexia does not work in Internet Explorer, please try another browser such as Google Chrome or Safari instead.

Guided Reading Questions

General Information

Mr Elgey - Class teacher

Mrs Walker-Powell & Mrs Alves - Teaching assistants

Start time - 8.40 Main playground.

Finish time - 15.10 Main playground.

This class page will be updated regularly so please check weekly for information and updates. Due to restrictions on the office, email is probably the best means of communication. We will limit things being sent home from school so this class page and Google Classroom will be important points of contact.

Children will come to school wearing their PE kits on Mondays and Thursdays. They will not need to change at school. They are allowed to wear trainers for the day but will need plimsolls to change into when we have to use the school hall when the weather is bad. Juniors are also allowed to change into trainers for lunch time.

PE lessons will begin on Monday 7th September.

Merry Christmas from all of us here in Year 3!
