Year 6

Academic year 2016-17

"You therefore must be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5:48

Our Blessed Lord's call to perfection is for each and every one of us. For the pupils in Year 6 that includes all aspects of school life in the final year of primary school. We have a great deal of work to do and many challenges, not least the end of year SATs. That means a good deal of homework and some after school SATs clubs. All the hard work from earlier years will now pay off and each pupil will be expected to fill any gaps in learning. There is much to look forward to: books to read and poems to recite, list to learn and maps to draw; representing St Mary's in sport, some trips and days out; getting a secondary school place and of course the Year 6 concert and graduation.

Year 6 is a great year, the crowning glory of primary school. The school year began with a blessing from Fr Richard who gave us all the most wonderful reminder: to pray for one another. Fr Richard has got the whole parish praying for the school and I have no doubt that those prayers will bring great rewards to the Class of 2017.  Ave Maria
